On 30th March 2021, Verteil Technologies’ subsidiary entity in Japan, Verteil Japan held an NDC symposium in Tokyo, with the theme “Build Back Travel Distribution Better and Stronger”. Guest speakers and participants from IATA, airlines, local travel agencies/OTAs and industry associations were in attendance. The event was conducted in a hybrid format of in-person meeting and webinar.
With this broad NDC symposium, Verteil aimed at spreading more awareness amongst the travel agencies in this market on the advantages and possibilities of NDC led retailing whilst improving customer experience, apart from influencing them to accelerate their digital transformation initiatives.
As we navigate these difficult times, it is necessary for the travel agency community to realise that the relevance of NDC has increased. The wheels are set in motion for the biggest technology transformation in aviation distribution, even in the face of this pandemic situation & travel agencies must get ready to adopt new digital distribution models so that they continue to be relevant to their end customers from a content and experience perspective. This seminar highlighted the need for travel trade to adopt new technologies so that they retain and enhance their competitive edge in these changing times.
